As a child, we used to travel A LOT!!

It was one of our favorite pastimes. I can say it with much pride that half of my life is well spent hitting the road. We used to have a car whose passenger seat could be laid down. My Father would place a thin mattress and it would change into a bed for me and my only elder sister and we were good to go.(I would take many dolls and stuff toys along. They would be neatly lying beside me. :D)

We would go to different cities on the weekends. So during night, my sister and I would love to lie down on the makeshift bed and count the stars. That star-laid sky would mystify me. A full moon would be a BONUS..!! Till date I am always awestruck by the sky, stars and moon and just a glance up the sky takes me down the memory lane.

Then there were those stopovers at the gas station which I always looked up to. We used to gather as much chips, juices, candies, cupcakes, lolly pops and ice lollies as we can and then we HAD to finish it all up (as if we were in some kind of junk food gobbling competition) until the next stopover.

The nights would be spent on the road taking in the mystic sky. Whereas, the days would be spent either looking out at the scenic view or the eyes being glued to a book. Once in a while, my parents would ask to keep the book away as it would affect the eyesight while the car was moving and we would at once close it –to be opened up later sneakily till the next lecture.

I loved that time A LOT. Even now only while typing about it has resulted as an adrenaline booster and I am good to go for a day to two.
